The League of Extraordinary Brickmen

Several years ago, my younger brothers and I were talking about how cool it would be to have characters like Gandalf, the Masterchief, and Iron Man fighting side by side. Lego provided the avenue to be able to create this fantasy. We came up with the name The League of Extraordinary Brickmen, similar to the mediocre movie/comic adaption starring Sean Connery. Quite some time passed and this idea never developed...until 2016.

After seeing The Force Awakens, I decided it was time to make this idea a reality. The villainous organization from that movie, The First Order, seemed a good choice for the League to take on. So after building a set from the Star Wars film, I brought the League of Extraordinary Brickmen together for the first time. Luke Skywalker (Star Wars), Gandalf the Grey (Lord of the Rings/Hobbit), Iron Man (Marvel Comics), Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones), the Masterchief (Halo), and Zane (Lego Ninjago). That valiant group of six Lego minifigures took off to take down The First Order. This stopmotion was released in February 2016. League Episode 1

A few months later, I decided to give the League another film and to add a worthy companion to their ranks. Their headquarters is attacked and seized by a coalition of Ninjago villains while they are out on a mission. The League returns home to find these unwelcome guests and gets to work reclaiming their headquarters. At the end of the battle, Batman (DC Comics) joins in and becomes a member of the group. This second installment was added in July. League Episode 2

During the holiday season I purchased a handful of Lego sets which were discounted online. A few of these included Marvel characters, so I got the idea of having the League face off against a group of Marvel villains. Comic characters are tougher because some of their fictional powers can be very intense and difficult to recreate with Lego, so I stuck with a few that I thought would be manageable. While having a nice holiday luncheon at a park, the Marvel villains attack and chaos ensues. The film was released in November, bringing the film count to three.
League Episode 3

So with three big themes down (Star Wars, Ninjago, and Marvel), where should I head next? I waited a few months and then the opportunity came up. My cousin purchased a bunch of Lego DC characters after the Lego Batman Movie came out, so I went with a DC villain line-up. But I also wanted to have it set during a wedding, where the villains storm in and interrupt a wedding ceremony that the League was happily attending. My Lego Bachelor series gave me that opportunity and I brought those two series together. During the ceremony, the Joker and several comic characters crash the wedding and the League had to intervene. This film will be released at the beginning of April 2017. So in  roughly one year's time, four films in this series have been created. Where will the League go next and which villainous group will try to defeat them?
